13 de ago. de 2015 · The sound quality is good but lacks the vocal fireworks of some other Beefheart recordings. The drum and guitar sound is crystal clear, the bass guitar can get a little lost on occasion. The backing vocals add detail and warmth to the recording. The good Captain’s voice does not quite soar or have the edge that it has on other recordings.

7 de dic. de 2006 · If you want to sample Captain Beefheart then get this CD. Two albums for the price of one, this shows an accessible side to Beefheart's music. If you like this then I would suggest a later album, Shiny Beast (Bat Chain Puller) to try next. If you are an entry level Beefheart fan then The Spotlight Kid / Clear Spot would be a great choice.
