I think it is simpler to shoot as if in a real world situation. Set the camera up how you want to shoot - the correct frame rate, shutter speed and shutter angle.

When I import my raw footage into resolve even using CinemaDNG and BMD film settings there is visible colour, albeit low contrast, flat and very light.

If I need really, really accurate audio, I use a completely separate system, like a Zoom. I would agree on the half cage. I'm not using any cage at the moment.
