In de jaren zestig was hij drummer bij Tom Jones, die ook in Pontypridd geboren is.Verder speelde hij in de bands Manfred Mann's Earth Band, Asia, The Firm en AC/DC.Bij AC/DC had hij een drumstel met drie bassdrums.
