Echolyn is an American progressive rock band based in eastern Pennsylvania . History. Origins and first phase (1989–1995) Echolyn was formed in 1989 when guitarist Brett Kull and drummer Paul Ramsey, members of a recently split cover band called Narcissus, joined with keyboardist Chris Buzby to form a new band to focus on original songs. [1] .

echolyn started in the late 1980's when Brett Kull, Raymond Weston, and Paul Ramsey played in a cover band named Narcissus; however in 1988 that band disbanded as the members tired of playing cover tunes. A year later Christopher Buzby joined Kull and Ramsey to form echolyn, making a conscious decision to focus entirely on original music.
Chris Buzby's Fender Rhodes melody played during the 16-minute mark might as well be an homage to "Proclamation." I like the jazzy chorus played around the 26-minute mark and the backing vocals. Shortly after this, the music crescendos once again, allowing Ray Weston to shine.
19 de jun. de 2022 · Keyboardist Chris Buzby went into teaching, and led jazz fusion ensemble Finneus Gauge through two albums, while Kull, drummer Paul Ramsey and vocalist Ray Weston formed a trio called Still (later named Always Almost) and released two albums. Bassist Tom Hyatt stepped away from music entirely.

22 de ago. de 2012 · Chris Buzby’s powerful, trad-prog synth sounds are accompanied by Brett Kull’s urgent guitar lines; drummer Paul Ramsey drives smoothly through the many rhythmic gear changes and, importantly, Kull and Buzby’s choral backing vocals add distinctive colour.
