Our story of common roots and shared purpose. Rosemary Hall, a school for girls, was founded in 1890 by Mary Atwater Choate. In 1896 Mary’s husband, Judge William G. Choate, established The Choate School for boys on the same family property in Wallingford.
Choate Rosemary Hall (informally shortened to Choate; / tʃ oʊ t /) is a private, co-educational, college-preparatory boarding school in Wallingford, Connecticut, United States. Founded in 1890, it took its present name and began a co-educational system with the 1978 merger of The Choate School for boys and Rosemary Hall for girls.
Choate Rosemary Hall's essential mission is the education of young people so they become informed, active, and responsible members of the world community.
