Santana became famous in the late 1960s and early 1970s with his band, Santana, which pioneered rock, salsa and jazz fusion.The band's sound featured his melodic, blues-based guitar lines set against Latin and African rhythms.

Carlos Alberto Santana Barragán (Autlán de Navarro, Jalisco, México, 20 de julio de 1947) es el guitarrista de la popular banda de rock fusión Santana. En el 2003 fue nombrado por una revista como el decimoquinto (15º) mejor guitarrista eléctrico de todos los tiempos. Su padre fue violinista en una banda de mariachi.
