22 de sept. de 2013 · Care Bears on Fire is/was an all-female pop/punk trio from Brooklyn, NY. The band was Sophie (vocals, guitar), Izzy (drums) and Jena (bass), but, Jena left in 2011. Sophie and Izzy formed the band, with Lucio (a boy) on bass, in 2005 when they were in 5th grade! They released their first album I Stole Your Animal two years later! But, they weren’t just kids pretending to be grown-ups ...
Formed in 2005 when its three original members were in fifth grade, Care Bears on Fire were signed to a major label by the time Sophie, Izzy, and Jena were in their early teenage years. While its 2009 record GET OVER IT fit in with Disney's girl power brigade, the act's live shows retained an unbridled punk prescience beyond the threesome's years.
Care Bears on Fire is a Brooklyn-based band featuring Sophie Kasakove (guitar & lead vocals), Izzy Schappell-Spillman (drums & backing vocals) and Jena Gilbert-Merrill (bass & backing vocals) who label themselves as pop-punk, with alternative and garage elements mixed in.
