That goal seemed sensible enough through the first three games of the season, which included a pair of wins and a one-point loss.

In the 2022 NBA Draft Lottery, Detroit picked Jaden Ivey with the fifth pick. In last year’s lottery, they brought on Ausar Thompson with the fifth, too. So, this is the third year in a row we’re picking fifth.
