El bunraku (文楽, ''? ) es el nombre genérico por el que es conocido el teatro de marionetas japonés Ningyō jōruri ( 人形浄瑠璃 , ' Ningyō jōruri' ? ) (marionetas e historias contadas).
Bunraku (also known as Ningyō jōruri (人形浄瑠璃)) is a form of traditional Japanese puppet theatre, founded in Osaka in the beginning of the 17th century, which is still performed in the modern day.

Bunraku (文楽) is the traditional puppet theater of Japan. It started of as popular entertainment for the commoners during the Edo Period (1603-1868) in Osaka and evolved into artistic theater during the late 17th century. Along with noh and kabuki, it is recognized as a UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage.
