  7. Brooke Astor (born Roberta Brooke Russell; March 30, 1902 – August 13, 2007) was an American philanthropist, socialite and author. She was the chairwoman for the Vincent Astor Foundation. The VAF was founded by her third husband, Vincent Astor, son of RMS Titanic passenger John Jacob Astor IV.
