The pair began playing cover tunes as the Wolf Brothers. Eventually, they collaborated with bassist Dean Felber, a former high school bandmate of Bryan's, and Brantley Smith, a drummer. In 1986, they adopted the name Hootie & the Blowfish, a conjunction of the nicknames of two of their college friends. [3]
3 de dic. de 2018 · New freshman Mark Bryan heard Darius Rucker singing in the showers of the dorm they shared and was impressed by his vocal ability. Bryan and Rucker began playing cover tunes as The Wolf Brothers and eventually hooked up with Dean Felber, a former high school bandmate of Bryan’s, and Brantley Smith as Hootie & The Blowfish.
Brantley Smith is a litigation associate based in Dallas. He is a member of the firm’s Business Litigation & Dispute Resolution Practice Group. His practice focuses on a variety of business litigation disputes, including corporate governance, oil and gas, trade secret misappropriation, and business divorce related matters.
Brantley Smith was the band’s original drummer. He left the band to pursue a career in music ministry, but he has made sporadic guest appearances with the band in the past (he played cello on their MTV Unplugged performance in 1996, and played drums at Gruene Hall in Gruene, Texas, on June 27, 2008).
3 de jul. de 2023 · Brantley Smith was the original drummer until he was replaced in the late 1980s by Jim Sonefeld. Rucker, Bryan, Felber and Sonefeld solidified the famous lineup they still operate as today.
