What little knowledge of the VU I had at that time (I was 17) consisted of their entry in Lillian Roxon's Rock Encyclopedia, Bowie's live cover of I'm Waiting for the Man and Lou's Walk on the Wild Side/Perfect Day 45. Anyway, I bought it & never looked back!
