Bob "Bullet" Bailey The Leaves were an American garage rock band formed in the San Fernando Valley, California, in 1964. [1] They are best known for their version of the song " Hey Joe ", which was a hit in 1966.
The band reunited in 1970 before Pons became a member of Zappa's band. The reunited lineup included Jim Pons on rhythm guitar, John Beck on lead guitar, Buddy Sklar, lead singer from The Hook and The Spencer Davis Group, Al Nichols on bass from the Turtles, and Bob "Bullet" Bailey on drums.
The original band had a lineup of three singers and three sidemen. The sidemen were Joey Rivera from the Checkmates; Monti Lawston; and Bob "Bullet" Bailey, formerly of the Leaves.
