Express" concept, enlisting former studio associates Robben Ford on guitar, the tremendous Joe Sample on Fender Rhodes and occasional piano, Steve Gadd on drums and Ralph MacDonald on percussion.
Joseph Leslie Sample (February 1, 1939 – September 12, 2014) was an American jazz, Jazz fusion keyboardist and composer. He was one of the founding members of The Jazz Crusaders in 1960, the band which shortened its name to "The Crusaders" in 1971.
1 de ene. de 1997 · His recent offering ' Bluestreak ' with his old band ' The L.A. Express ' with Joe Sample, Robben Ford, Ralph MacDonald and Steve Gadd is classic Scotty and features a selection of his classic seventies sound which in many ways I prefer as they are all instrumentals.

10 de feb. de 2007 · Bluestreak was a 1996 studio album with dedicated personnel including Joe Sample, whose work I loved with the Crusaders. To my surprise, Bluestreak is mundane. Scott plays relatively well, but most of this seems to be formulaic smooth jazz.
