The film is lame comedy surrounded by high-energy blues (and some pop, rock and country music). And don't leave early: After the end credits James Brown does ``Please, Please, Please.''.

Net als de voorganger The Blues Brothers biedt de film een staalkaart van Amerikaanse blues, soul en rhythm ’n blues. Oudgedienden als Aretha Franklin, Wilson Pickett en B.B. King zijn er samen te horen met nieuwe sterren als Erykah Badu en Jonny Lang. De film is eigenlijk een live-album voorzien van bewegende plaatjes.
Blues Brothers 2000 is een Amerikaanse film uit 1998 van John Landis, en een vervolg op The Blues Brothers. Dan Aykroyd en John Goodman spelen de hoofdrollen. John Belushi, die samen met Aykroyd met hun Blues Brothers-act faam had gemaakt, was in 1982 overleden. Vrijwel alle bluesartiesten die in het eerste deel voor het voetlicht kwamen, zijn ook weer in deze film te zien, in dezelfde rol.
