If I can still count, he had 27 albums as a leader, and a bunch more as a sideman. He recorded for Riverside, Blue Note and Mainstream Records.

At 6,684 feet above sea level, Mount Mitchell is the highest point in the USA east of the Mississippi River. What is pretty amazing is that you can drive all the way to the summit of Mount Mitchell.
