Emergency Third Rail Power Trip is the debut album by American rock band Rain Parade, released in 1983. It is one of the most prominent records in the Paisley Underground movement of the 1980s.
Rain Parade in the 1980s (1981–1986) Originally called the Sidewalks, the band was founded in Los Angeles by college roommates Matt Piucci (guitar, vocals) and David Roback (guitar, vocals) in 1981, [1] [2] who had attended Carleton College together. [3] David's brother Steven Roback (bass, vocals) joined the band shortly thereafter.

Rain Parade. Matt Piucci and Steven Roback have been writing songs together since 1981, and are co-founders, along with David Roback, of Rain Parade. Their debut album, Emergency Third Rail Power Trip, released by Enigma Records in the US and Demon Records in the UK in 1983, is internationally recognized as a masterpiece.
