William (Bill) MacCormick (1942 - ) studied art at the Elam School of Fine Art, Auckland, New Zealand where the emphasis in the late 1950s was on drawing. From the 1960s he worked as a graphic designer. MacCormick's early art included many watercolours painted in the Tongariro National Park.

Bill MacCormick. b 1942 "I always loved drawing and that was the emphasis they placed on a student at Elam in the late 1950s. That led to a job as an artist in advertising at Farmers, followed by work as an artist and designer at NZ Herald, then at National Publicity Studios in Wellington. Since the 1980s my main interest has been painting.
