Bikini Kill se forma a finales de los 80, por las entonces estudiantes, Kathleen Hanna, Tobi Vail y Kathi Wilcox, iniciando una idea de crear una revista feminista con el nombre de "Bikini Kill" que terminó concretándose en una banda.
