There is plenty of great music to go around, including his signature piece "Messin' With The Kid". The overall effort is typical Junior Wells; straight-forward Rockin' Chicago Blues.

The Blues Don’t Lie is one of his best works in a vast career of great releases. It is an incredible record and genuinely makes me happy. It may just be the cure for the blues. The Review: 9.5/10. I was carrying my guitar, walking the streets on the south side, and I was thinking I might have to beg a dime from someone so I could call my mother to ask her to send me my train fare back home,” he tells The Blues in serious tones.
