The Best of Emerson, Lake & Palmer is an album by British progressive rock band Emerson, Lake & Palmer, released in 1994. This supersedes a 1980 compilation with a shorter, different track list and Japanese ukiyo-e cover designed by Richard Evans .
Obviously, a compilation such as this one is not the way to listen to Emerson, Lake, and Palmer. The band was all about side-long suites and long, ponderous, showoffy jams. On the other hand, if you just want to own "Lucky Man" and the short version of "Fanfare for the Common Man", here's the place to get 'em for two bucks or so.

Certainly with a catalog as rich as Emerson, Lake & Palmer's it is extremely difficult for one CD (especially a short one) to truly capture the essence of the group. This one fails both as a chronological compilation and as the best-of that it is billed as being. That said, there are some good points here.
