  1. Bernard Gallacher, OBE (born 9 February 1949) is a Scottish professional golfer . Early life and amateur career. Gallacher was born in Bathgate in West Lothian, Scotland. He took up golf at the age of eleven. In 1965 he won the Lothians Golf Association Boys Championship.

  2. Started his professional career by winning the 1968 Sir Henry Cotton Rookie of the Year Award. Altogether, he won 13 times in Europe and eight times elsewhere with his banner year coming in 1969, when he became the then youngest winner of the Harry Vardon Trophy.
