12 de abr. de 2024 · Rodgers and his chief collaborators in Chic, the late drummer Tony Thompson and bassist Bernard Edwards, came out of the downtown New York City avant-garde scene in the 1970s — one of Rodgers’ first bands was a punk band called The Boyz.
9 de abr. de 2024 · Nile Rodgers, Bernard Edwards: Introduction. Everyone has that one song that brings back memories, evokes emotions, and holds a special meaning in their heart. For me, that song is “Good Times (intro)” by Chic. Released in 1979, this disco-funk anthem instantly became a hit and continues to be a timeless classic.
Hace 2 días · Near the end of the sessions, Rodgers hired Chic drummer Tony Thompson and bassist Bernard Edwards for additional work; he was reluctant to hire them earlier due to their past drug use. Due to their arrival time, Thompson and Edwards' contributions were limited, appearing on only three tracks and one track, respectively.
