22 de abr. de 2024 · 19 days ago. Like a d*** fool, I was somehow unaware of Guided By Voices in the 90's. I "discovered" Bee Thousand about a decade ago and have recently done a deep dive into their albums and read Closer You Are.
I'll take Bee Thousand over Vampire on Titus any day. For me, peak GBV is Bee Thousand - Alien Lanes -- Under the Bushes Under the Stars. Earlier stuff is too rough, later stuff is too slick. To my ear, the 3 listed above have more polished song writing without losing the lo-fi charm.
