About Beck, Bogert & Appice Although the all-star power trio of guitarist Jeff Beck, bassist Tim Bogert, and drummer Carmine Appice discussed a potential collaboration as early as 1970, the project was put on the back burner after Beck suffered a fractured skull in an automobile wreck.

Jeff Beck, bassist Tim Bogert, and drummer Carmine Appice came together in the aftermath of the guitarist dissolving the Jeff Beck Group. He wanted them as early as 1972, but following an accident in which Beck suffered a fractured skull, and the commitment to Cactus by his prospective bandmates, the threesome weren't able to get together until 1973.
