Barry Switzer was a football coach in the National Football League (NFL) from 1994 to 1997, finishing his career as the head coach of the Dallas Cowboys. Over his four years of coaching his teams compiled a cumulative win/loss record of 40-24-0.
2001. Barry Switzer was born October 5, 1937 in Crossett, Arkansas. He started football at Crossett High School, then played at the University of Arkansas. He was center, linebacker, and captain of the 1959 team which won the Southwest conference and the Gator Bowl. At Arkansas he played under two famous coaches, Jack Mitchell and Frank Broyles.
