The only surviving member of the original lineup of Necromandus is Frank Hall: Dennis McCarten died of a kidney illness in December 2004 at the age of 54, and Barry Dunnery (the elder brother of Francis Dunnery) died of cancer on 29 May 2008 at the age of 56.

Barry also known as ‘Baz’ came from Egremont and gave up a glittering showbiz career to go back to normal life in West Cumbria, as a joiner.

Except Necromandus never became famous. They never even got to release an album.
21 de jul. de 2017 · Furthering the album’s profound emotional impact, the guitarwork of Barry Dunnery has found its way into the grooves via a recently-rediscovered rehearsal tape dating back to the mid-70s, when Baz was writing songs with John Marcangelo, who now plays keyboards in the new-look Necromandus.
Official website. Necromandus biography. In 1968 two West Cumbrian bands, JUG and HEAVEN, broke-up. Members from both bands, BARRY DUNNERY (lead guitar), DENNIS McCARTEN (bass), FRANK HALL (drums) and singer BILL BRANCH formed a heavy progressive blues outfit they called HOT SPRING WATER.

The Cumbrian band started in the late 1960s, when vocalist Bill Branch, guitarist Barry ‘Baz’ Dunnery (older brother of former It Bites singer and guitarist Francis), bassist Dennis McCarten and drummer Frank Hall teamed up.
