"The Ballad of Jayne" (originally spelled "The Ballad of Jane" on early pressings of the album) is a 1989 power ballad by American glam metal band L.A. Guns from their 1989 album Cocked & Loaded. The song was said to have been written about actress and Playmate Jayne Mansfield (this has been debunked by Tracii Guns.)

A song about Jayne Mansfield, a blonde bombshell actress and pin-up girl in the '50s and '60s, who died young in a car accident. The song was written by bass player Kelly Nickels and lead singer Phil Lewis, and released in 1990 as a single by the rock band L.A. Guns. The song was a hit on MTV and inspired by the TV series Firefly.
