Edgar Winter, with guitarists Ronnie Montrose and Rick Derringer aboard, had a short but successful run as a live act, and Winter was the first performer to ever strap a keyboard around his neck, which allowed him to walk around the stage playing synthesizer parts as the song’s lead instrument.
