OVERVIEW. Since the founding of ATYP in 1963 (the country’s first theatre company dedicated to young people) Australia has been at the forefront of international performing arts practice when it comes to creating work for and with young people. Many of Australia’s most celebrated professional artists have been employed to work with our communities through the Youth Arts industry.
The ATYP Foundation Commissions invest in work for young people to perform. Developed by ATYP and published by Playlab, we are creating a canon of work for young actors aged between 10 and 13. This is your chance to see this exciting new Australian work before it goes on to be performed by schools and youth theatres around the country.
