30 de abr. de 2024 · Augustus Egg (born May 2, 1816, London, England—died March 26, 1863, Algiers, Algeria) was a genre painter and actor. Egg studied at the Royal Academy, of which he became a member in 1860. He travelled in Italy with Charles Dickens and Wilkie Collins in 1853.

Augustus Leopold Egg (1816–1863) (b London, 2 May 1816; d Algiers, 26 Mar. 1863). English painter. He painted historical, anecdotal, and literary themes (he was a friend of Dickens and a talented actor), and under the influence of the Pre-Raphaelites he also turned to overtly moralizing subjects.
