Audrey Kathleen van Heemstra Hepburn-Ruston (Elsene, 4 mei 1929 – Tolochenaz, 20 januari 1993) was een in België geboren half Nederlandse, half Britse actrice, danseres (zoals zij zichzelf liever dan actrice noemde) en speciaal ambassadeur van het United Nations Children's Fund (Unicef). In de jaren vijftig en zestig van de twintigste eeuw was ze een stijlicoon.

Hepburn played her first major role in 1951, when she was chosen by French writer Colette to play the lead role in the English version of her play Gigi on Broadway. This led to her being cast in the lead female part in the movie Roman Holiday (1953), opposite Gregory Peck. The movie made her an instant international star.
