Arthur Henry Hallam (1 February 1811 – 15 September 1833) was an English poet, best known as the subject of a major work, In Memoriam, by his close friend and fellow poet Alfred Tennyson. Hallam has been described as the jeune homme fatal (French for "doomed young man") of his generation.

Arthur Henry Hallam (born Feb. 1, 1811, London, Eng.—died Sept. 15, 1833, Vienna, Austria) was an English essayist and poet who died before his considerable talent developed; he is remembered principally as the friend of Alfred Tennyson commemorated in Tennyson’s elegy In Memoriam.

The poem In Memoriam A.H.H. (1850) by Alfred, Lord Tennyson, is an elegy for his Cambridge friend Arthur Henry Hallam, who died of cerebral haemorrhage at the age of twenty-two years, in Vienna in 1833.
