Arthur Dyer Tripp III (born September 10, 1944) is an American retired musician who is best known for his work as a percussionist with Frank Zappa and the Mothers of Invention and Captain Beefheart and his Magic Band during the 1960s and 1970s. Thereafter, Tripp retired from music.

Profile: Born September 10th, 1944 in Athens, Ohio, USA. American drummer. Art Tripp grew up in Pittsburgh before becoming a percussionist for the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra in 1962. He played and recorded with Frank Zappa and The Mothers from 1968 until the end of 1969, before joining The Magic Band for four years.
