La Collection de l’Art Brut expose en permanence des créations d’autodidactes réalisées à l'écart de la tradition et des modes artistiques, sans se préoccuper du regard d’autrui. Elle a été inaugurée en 1976, suite à la donation de la collection d’œuvres d’Art Brut par l’artiste Jean Dubuffet à la Ville de Lausanne.

18 de abr. de 2024 · In 1964, he launched the publication of the Art Brut booklets: he himself composed the first eight editions of a series that continues to this day. He donated his collection to the City of Lausanne in 1971: at the time, it comprised 5000 works by 133 creators. The Collection de l'Art Brut opened to the public on February 26th, 1976.

The four floors of the Château de Beaulieu are designed to keep creations by the authors in its collections on permanent display: these presently come to 700. The Collection de l’Art Brut continues to pursue its initial goal of discovering, studying and preserving outsider creations.

Art Brut have announced a new compilation album, A Record Collection, Reduced to a Mixtape.For the 2xLP or 5xCD set, the south London indie-pop institution selected highlights from its albums Bang Bang Rock & Roll, It’s a Bit Complicated, Art Brut vs Satan, and Brilliant! Tragic!, along with demos, alternate takes, and live recordings from its 2003-2008 heyday.

With the departure of Jasper Future and Mikey Breyer, Art Brut are now made up of founding members Argos, Ian Catskilkin and Freddy Feedback while Toby Macfarlaine joins on guitar and Charlie Layton joins on drums. “I’ve known Charlie forever,” Argos explains.
