Lenny Pickett (born April 10, 1954) is an American saxophonist and musical director of the Saturday Night Live band. From 1973 to 1981 he was a member of the band Tower of Power. Pickett has worked extensively as a session musician for a wide range of performers and genres.

29 de sept. de 2022 · LP has been the Bandleader on SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE (SNL) since 1995, after gaining fame with TOWER OF POWER. His renowned skill in the altissimo (high) register of his Tenor Sax and his relentlessly soulful approach create an inimitable, distinctive voice.
He is currently musical director for NBC's Saturday Night Live and has been the saxophone soloist for SNL since 1985. He wrote articles for “Saxophone Journal” and he contributed a chapter to the instructional book “Sax Lessons With The Greats”.
