Anthony Minghella (6 January 1954 – 18 March 2008) was a British movie director, producer and screenwriter of Italian ancestry. He was born in Ryde, Isle of Wight. His brother is screenwriter Dominic Minghella (born 1967). Minghella wrote and directed Truly, Madly, Deeply; he won a BAFTA Award for Best Original Screenplay.
