In the interview Andrea Zanzotto gave to the Corriere della sera (18 June 2001) on the occasion of the publica-tion of his latest book of poetry, Sovrimpressioni (Mon-dadori, 2001), he laments "the devastation of the land-scape and the oppression of universal consumerism," a theme at least as old - at any rate in English poetry - as Wordsworth.
