En 1994 se unieron al grupo Andre Shapps en teclado y DJ Zonka como DJ, percusionista y corista. El álbum Higher Power , lanzado bajo la denominación Big Audio, no tuvo mucho éxito como tampoco lo tuvo F-Punk , de 1995, lanzado nuevamente bajo el nombre Big Audio Dynamite.
The band later recruited keyboardist Andre Shapps (co-producer of The Globe, brother of MP Grant Shapps and Mick Jones's cousin) and DJ Michael " Lord Zonka" Custance as DJ and vocalist. Both appeared on the band's seventh studio album Higher Power (1994), which was released under the shortened name "Big Audio".
Grant's brother, Andre Shapps, is a musician who was a member of Big Audio Dynamite (BAD) between 1994 and 1998, playing keyboards. Their cousin Mick Jones was a key figure in British punk rock of the late 1970s and a founding member of both the Clash and Big Audio Dynamite.
