Allan Crockford is best known as the bassist in Medway’s seminal act, The Prisoners, who paved the ground in the 80s for the British baggy scene and 90s Britpop. However latterly as his song writing has bloomed he’s stepped out as lead for The Galileo 7.
Since splitting up the members of The Prisoners have featured in a wide range of bands. James Taylor and Allan Crockford formed mainstream jazz funk band the James Taylor Quartet in 1986, although Allan Crockford is no longer part of their line-up.

As a member of such semi-legends as The Prisoners, The Solarflares, JTQ, Thee Headcoats and now Graham Day & the Forefathers (amongst a much longer list), Allan Crockford played an important part in establishing the Medway area's reputation as a hotbed for spirited, uncompromising garage rock with a strong DIY ethic.
