Moonrising is an album about grappling with loss, a kaleidoscope of dim-lit pop with dark guitars and gothic flourishes. Like Alice Cohen's previous records, the homespun production is crafted from vintage synthesizers and drum machines, drawing from her backgrounds in new wave and grunge, and channeling a deeply-ingrained sense of groove.
Alice Cohen is a playwright, author, solo theatre artist, and recipient of The New School 2020 Distinguished Teaching Award. She teaches creative writing and playwriting at The New School and has written books, plays, and memoirs that explore feminism, memoir, fiction, and solo theatre. She has also worked as a children's television writer and a guest artist at various universities.
