Albert Lebrun (1871-1950) a été le président de la République de 1932 à 1940, pendant la Seconde Guerre mondiale. Il a marqué son septennat par une forte instabilité ministérielle, des voyages, des mesures sociales et des controverses. Il a été déporté et arrêté par la Gestapo, puis repris par le général de Gaulle.
