Al Garth is a saxophonist and violinist who has worked with the Eagles since 1982. He is also a founding member of Loggins & Messina and a former member of the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band.

Al Garth joined Poco Band in 1975 and played saxophone and violin until 1976. He has also worked with Loggins and Messina, the Eagles, and Soul Fuse.
Poco was an American country rock band originally formed in 1968 after the demise of Buffalo Springfield. Guitarists Richie Furay and Jim Messina, former members of Buffalo Springfield, were joined by multi-instrumentalist Rusty Young, bassist Randy Meisner, and drummer George Grantham.
