Itzhak Perlman (Hebrew: יִצְחָק פרלמן; born August 31, 1945) is an Israeli-American violinist. He has performed worldwide and throughout the United States , in venues that have included a state dinner for Elizabeth II at the White House in 2007, and at the 2009 inauguration of Barack Obama .
In the summer of 1994, along with her husband Itzhak, Toby established The Perlman Music Program (PMP) for aspiring young violinists, violists, cellists, bassists, and pianists. In 2000, a visionary group of supporters secured the program’s 28-acre home on Shelter Island overlooking Crescent Beach.
