“Legs” Larry Smith: ‘Mr Wonderful’ Right Recordings Ltd: RIGHT 419. Blessed with being one of England’s finer eccentrics – and following an education in art (Oxford, London, and New York), “Legs” Larry Smith returned home and became a founder member of the legendary Bonzo Dog Doo-Dah Band.
Oxford-born ‘Legs’ Larry Smith was a student of art and design (in Oxford, London & New York) before he joined the Bonzo Dog Doo-Dah Band as tuba player, tap dancer and occasional percussionist in 1963. The band combined aspects of trad jazz, vaudeville, psychedelic rock and avant-garde art. Bonzo members were all art students.
Larry Smith, also known as "Legs" Larry Smith (born on the 18th of January 1944) is an English drummer, best known as the drummer for the comedy group the Bonzo Dog Doo-Dah Band. In the 1970s, Smith worked alot with George Harrison. Harrison's song "His Name Is Legs", is about Larry.
Leben. Smith wurde Ende 1965 von Gründungsmitglied Vivian Stanshall zur Bonzo Dog Doo-Dah Band geholt. Ursprünglich Tuba -Spieler, wurde er dauerhaftes Mitglied als Schlagzeuger. Mit der Band trat er 1967 im Beatles - Fernsehfilm Magical Mystery Tour auf sowie zwischen 1967 und 1969 in der Comedyserie Do Not Adjust Your Set.

“Legs” Larry Smith co-founded the infamous Bonzo Dog Band with Vivian Stanshall in the 1960’s at Art College, has toured with Eric Clapton and featured on albums by George Harrison, Elton John, John Cale. He has appeared in the Handmade Film Bullshot and in the Magical Mystery Tour with The Beatles.
