The municipality of Mutters lies on a mountain plateau between the Wipptal Valley and the the Stubaital Valley, just a few kilometres south of Innsbruck. Its 2,100 inhabitants enjoy the best of both worlds: an unspoilt landscape just a short drive from the city.
Mutters is a municipality in the Innsbruck-Land district in the Austrian state of Tyrol. It is located 4.70 km (3 mi) south of Innsbruck. The village was first mentioned in 1100 but settlement already began app. 3000 years ago. Mutters received connection with Innsbruck thanks to the Stubaitalbahn in 1904.
In winter, the Muttereralm - Mutters Alpine Pasture - turns into a skiing area with 16.5 km of slopes which can be reached from Mutters and Götzens. Highlights are the kids' park, the three toboggan runs and the family downhill runs.
