Wentworth Military Academy and College was a private two-year military college and high school in Lexington, Missouri, one of six military junior colleges in the United States. The institution was founded in 1880 and closed in 2017.

Wentworth Military Academy was started in the river town of Lexington, MO in 1880. Steeped in history of river traffic along the Missouri River Bluffs. Rich in Civil War history, the brainchild of Stephen G. Wentworth, Wentworth, a school for young men, came to be.
Lexington, Missouri, was once the home of the Wentworth Military Academy, a U.S. military junior college that operated from 1880 to 2017. The grounds of the academy were sold at auction after its closure. However, downtown Lexington now has a museum dedicated to the academy’s history.
