La Universidad Libre, (en neerlandés: Vrije Universiteit) es una universidad en Ámsterdam, Países Bajos. Es conocido también como « VU Amsterdam ». No debe confundirse con la Universidad de Ámsterdam, en la misma ciudad. Ni con la Universidad Libre (Colombia), que es de Colombia.
En enero de 2011 se inauguró oficialmente "Initium", un nuevo edificio de la Universidad VU de Ámsterdam. La sala de conferencias del edificio puede albergar hasta 500 estudiantes. Siguiendo la tendencia de muchos estadios de fútbol modernos, las filas de asientos se escalonaron para que cada estudiante tuviera la mejor vista posible.
