24 de oct. de 2022 · Jerry Edmonton was the brother of Mars Bonfire, the author of "Born To Be Wild", and a versatile musician who played drums, sang and wrote songs for Steppenwolf. He died in a car accident in 1993, but his legacy lives on in rock history.

The group was formed in late 1967 in Los Angeles by lead singer John Kay, keyboardist Goldy McJohn and drummer Jerry Edmonton, all formerly of the Canadian band the Sparrows (which was eventually shortened to Sparrow).
