The Cambridge School came to Boston in 1950. Within a year, it was under the guidance of Milton Grahm, and shortly thereafter his ownership.

Mayor Curley signed an order changing the name from Governor Square to Kenmore Square. “Kenmore” was taken from the trolley stop “Kenmore Station”. Kenmore Station took its name from the intersecting street, Kenmore Street. It’s as simple as that.
